That is so completely awesome. Best mandelbrot tattoo I’ve seen. Any chance you would share the image file you created? Or is copying someone else’s tattoo creepy? I do not know the protocol, haha. O.o

nope, but he did a great job. i rendered the image in photoshop and built the gradients with ink/pigment in mind, and it worked out!

Hello,

Brandon told me you were in DC. We (my husband, son and I) moved here recently. We are unfamiliar with the area and are looking for insight on outdoor activities. Your hike sounds fun. Could you give directions. We are also looking for outdoor activities that we could do with our 6 month old son, Braxton. From the sound of it, strollers wouldn’t be suitable for that terrain. Any thoughts?

Great analysis….I think your most important insight is “Usually, a given person’s mentality about death is derived from the intricacies of his or her life”. It reminds me of the statement that a good death can only follow a life well lived…that is one that has been full of engagement, integrity, service and wonder. It is pretty hard to gain any insight into the end of life without aggressively living and finding out what the edges of life can look like. Swimming in the middle of the river does not teach you much about the rocks, pools, eddies and shallows that lead to the ultimate falls. My experience is that people who have savored life ( “rico sabor” as the old Winston add used to say) are a lot more willing to look at the next opportunity. People get stuck waiting for someone else to tell them what is next, rather than realizing that it is about how they are going to respond to (and accept) the next great adventure. Easy for me to say…life is great.

No we can’t blame them. Capitalism is a greedy snake that will eat its own tail. Then where will that leave us. Seems some people have had this figured out for a while.

Reminds me of a jim morrison quote, “I tell you this, I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m gonna get my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames…” Is that an irresponsible way to live? Probably. I don’t know, why don’t you ask Jim…
